Dubai Private Aviation Overview

The world’s busiest private aviation
market outside the United States.

Dubai operates two international airports serving private aviation, each with a distinct operational profile and geographic logic. Dubai International Airport (DXB / OMDB) sits close to the historic city centre — the ADAC (Al Dhafra Aviation Club) terminal at DXB places passengers approximately 15–20 minutes from Downtown Dubai, DIFC, and the Dubai Marina corridor. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC / OMDW), 37 kilometres south of the city at Dubai South, is the preferred facility for ultra-long-range aircraft on intercontinental sectors and for operations during periods when DXB’s constrained airspace limits private jet slot availability.

Dubai is consistently among the world’s top three private jet markets by movement volume — driven by its role as a financial, real estate, tourism, and luxury goods hub connecting Europe, Africa, South Asia, and the Far East. The Singapore–Dubai corridor is one of Seletar Private Aviation’s most active intercontinental routes, operated on heavy and ultra-long-range aircraft in both directions. We hold active handling relationships at both ADAC and Al Maktoum and manage every element of Dubai arrivals and departures as a fully coordinated programme.

Choosing between DXB and DWC depends on aircraft size, origin routing, and ground destination within Dubai. We make this selection for every booking based on the specific parameters of your trip — clients never need to navigate this decision themselves.

Two airports, clearly explained —
which one is right for your trip.

The choice between Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) is the first decision in every Dubai private jet booking. We make this call for you based on your aircraft, routing, and ground destination — but the logic is explained below for full transparency.

Dubai Private Aviation

Why Dubai is one of the world’s
great private aviation destinations.

01
Global crossroads positioning
Dubai sits within an eight-hour flight of two-thirds of the world’s population — a geographic reality that has made it the dominant hub for intercontinental private aviation connecting Europe, Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Far East. No other city in the world offers this combination of geographic centrality, visa accessibility, and luxury infrastructure.
02
Visa-on-arrival for most nationalities
Citizens of most countries — including Singapore, the UK, EU, US, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and many others — receive a 30-day UAE visa on arrival at no cost. This eliminates the advance documentation burden that affects Japan, China, India, and many other destinations in the region, enabling genuinely short-lead private jet bookings into Dubai.
03
Year-round demand — no off-season
Unlike seasonal destinations, Dubai generates consistent private aviation demand year-round. The cooler October–April period is peak leisure and conference season; the summer months drive UHNW residential demand from Dubai’s heat-escaping expatriate base returning from Europe and the UK. The Dubai calendar has no true dead season.
04
Asia–Europe transit hub
Dubai’s position as a natural geographic midpoint between Asia and Europe makes it a practical fuel and crew rest stop on ultra-long-range intercontinental sectors. Singapore to London via Dubai, or Tokyo to Geneva via Dubai, are routes where a DWC fuel stop optimises range performance and crew duty management on non-stop capable aircraft.
05
Resident fleet & operator depth
Dubai has one of the world’s largest concentrations of resident private aircraft — from regional midsize jets serving the Gulf corridor to VVIP widebody conversions based for Middle Eastern royalty and government. This fleet density reduces positioning costs on most Dubai-origin routes and supports fast aircraft availability across all categories.
06
Singapore–Dubai: our key corridor
The Singapore–Dubai axis — approximately 7.5 hours westbound — is one of Seletar Private Aviation’s most active intercontinental sectors. With our Singapore operational base and Dubai’s position as the Middle East hub of the HNW network, we have established handling relationships, pre-positioned aircraft options, and pricing intelligence on this corridor that most brokers outside the region cannot match.
FBO & Ground Handling

What we manage at Dubai
on every arrival and departure.

Our Dubai handling process begins the moment your booking is confirmed. Airport selection — DXB or DWC — is determined immediately based on aircraft type, origin routing, and slot availability. For DXB, slot applications are filed through the Dubai Airports slot coordinator as the first action on confirmation; for DWC, slot pre-clearance is typically faster and managed in parallel with FBO briefing.

UAE advance passenger information (APIS/PAXLST) is submitted to the UAE General Directorate of Residency as standard on every arrival. UAE visa-on-arrival status is confirmed for all passengers — the vast majority of international travellers receive this automatically, but we verify for every nationality as part of the documentation pre-check to eliminate any arrival-day surprises at immigration.

Airport selection — DXB or DWC
We determine the correct arrival airport for your booking based on aircraft size, origin routing, slot availability, and ground destination. This decision is made transparently and communicated in the quote. Clients never need to navigate the DXB/DWC question themselves.
Slot application — DXB priority
DXB is slot-controlled at IATA Level 3. Slot applications are filed immediately on booking confirmation — during Airshow, World Cup, and UAE National Day, advance application is critical. DWC slot coordination is managed in parallel where DWC is the selected airport.
UAE APIS & immigration
Advance passenger information submitted to UAE GDRFA on your behalf. UAE visa-on-arrival eligibility confirmed for all passenger nationalities before departure. Arrivals process through dedicated private aviation immigration at ADAC or DWC FBO — not the commercial terminals.
Meet-and-greet & VIP handling
Dedicated ground team at the FBO. Baggage direct to vehicles. UAE Customs clearance within the private terminal. Dubai’s VIP handling culture is among the best in the world — we set expectations and confirm service levels with the handler ahead of every movement.
Catering — Dubai standard
In-flight catering through Dubai-based providers — Emirati, Arabic, and international cuisine available. Halal catering available as standard. Dubai’s catering infrastructure for private aviation is world-class; advance orders for elaborate multi-course service placed against confirmed block time.
Ground transport & hotel coordination
Chauffeur transfers from ADAC or DWC to Downtown, DIFC, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, or any Dubai address. Rolls-Royce, Mercedes S-Class, and Cadillac Escalade fleets available through our partner operators. Hotel pre-arrival coordination for Burj Al Arab, Four Seasons DIFC, Atlantis The Royal, and others arranged on request.

DIFC & Downtown
Dubai International Financial Centre and the Downtown corridor — Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Address Downtown, and the Four Seasons DIFC — represent Dubai’s most concentrated luxury business and hospitality district. The primary destination for finance, legal, and investment sector clients.
15–20 min from DXB ADAC  ·  45 min from DWC
Iconic Hotel
Burj Al Arab & Jumeirah

Dubai Events Calendar

When Dubai private aviation
reaches peak demand.

Dubai’s event calendar is one of the most intensive in private aviation — a near-continuous sequence of international business, sport, culture, and government events that drive demand spikes throughout the year. We monitor the Dubai calendar continuously and advise on booking lead times as each period approaches.

November (Biennial)
Dubai Airshow
The world’s largest airshow by order value — held biennially at DWC — generates the highest single private aviation demand event in the Middle East. Both DXB and DWC experience severe slot pressure for the full event week, with aircraft arriving from every continent. This is the hardest event in the region to accommodate last-minute.
Extreme — book 6–8 weeks ahead
March
Dubai World Cup
The world’s richest horse race at Meydan Racecourse — a full week of events culminating in Super Saturday. One of the Middle East’s most important social occasions, drawing UHNW attendees from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. DXB ADAC is the preferred arrival for World Cup travel; private jet demand peaks on race day and the preceding Thursday-Friday.
Peak — book 4–5 weeks ahead
March
Art Dubai
The Middle East’s leading international art fair — held at Madinat Jumeirah — attracts gallery owners, collectors, and institutions from Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Coincides closely with the World Cup window, compressing both accommodation and private jet availability in the same 10-day period.
Peak — book alongside World Cup
December
UAE National Day
UAE National Day (2 December) and the surrounding week generates a surge in private jet movements as UAE nationals and expatriate residents travel for the holiday, while international clients arrive for the extended celebrations. DXB slot pressure peaks sharply in the 48–72 hours around the national holiday.
Peak — book 3–4 weeks ahead
December – January
Winter Season Peak
Dubai’s October–April cool season is its primary leisure and residential season — European and UK HNW clients escape winter for the Dubai sunshine, coinciding with major UAE sporting events. December and January see the highest overall private jet movement volumes of the year outside of Airshow events.
Peak — book 3 weeks ahead
November
Dubai Tennis Championships
The Mubadala World Tennis Championship and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships attract corporate hospitality demand from European and Asian clients. A smaller event compared to the Airshow and World Cup but notable for its concentration in the most active private aviation month in the Dubai calendar.
Moderate — book 2 weeks ahead
January – February
World Government Summit
The annual World Government Summit at Madinat Jumeirah — attended by heads of state, ministers, and international institution leaders — generates a sustained wave of government and diplomatic private jet movements that temporarily compresses both DXB and DWC slot capacity across the 3-day event.
Moderate — book 3 weeks ahead
Year-Round
Business & Real Estate Calendar
Dubai’s position as a financial and real estate hub generates rolling private jet demand year-round — deal closings, property viewings, fund roadshows, and board meetings drive consistent movement volumes that do not follow a seasonal pattern. Summer (June–September) is the quietest period for leisure but sustained for business.

Dubai FBO Infrastructure

Handling facilities and services
at ADAC and Al Maktoum.

Dubai operates two of the best-resourced private aviation ground environments in the world. ADAC at DXB and the Al Maktoum FBO at DWC both maintain world-class facilities under the oversight of Dubai Airports and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, reflecting the Emirate’s commitment to private aviation as a core infrastructure priority.

ADAC — DXB Terminal
Al Dhafra Aviation Club
The Al Dhafra Aviation Club (ADAC) at DXB is Dubai’s primary private aviation terminal — a dedicated facility on the south apron with a premium passenger lounge, UAE Immigration and Customs counters, conference rooms, dining, and full FBO services. The preferred terminal for city-proximate arrivals on midsize and super-midsize jets.
DWC FBO — Al Maktoum
Al Maktoum FBO Terminal
Al Maktoum’s dedicated private aviation terminal provides a full FBO environment with UAE immigration and customs processing, VIP lounge, and ground handling infrastructure. Preferred for ultra-long-range and VIP widebody operations. Less slot-constrained than DXB — the practical choice during peak event periods when ADAC approaches capacity.
Immigration
UAE GDRFA Processing
UAE General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) processes all private aviation arrivals at both terminals. Visa-on-arrival available for most nationalities — 30 days, renewable, no advance application. We submit advance APIS data and confirm visa eligibility for every passenger nationality as part of the pre-departure documentation check.
VIP Services
VIP Meet-and-Greet
Dubai’s private aviation VIP service culture is among the highest-standard in the world — a reflection of the Emirate’s HNW visitor base. Dedicated VIP officers, luxury vehicle fleets (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes S-Class), and pre-positioned hotel liaisons are all available through our Dubai handling partners and arranged as standard on premium bookings.
Fuel
Jet-A1 at Both Airports
Jet-A1 fuel available at both ADAC and Al Maktoum through DNATA and approved fuel suppliers. Dubai fuel pricing is competitive by international standards. Tankering from Dubai to Europe or Asia on outbound ultra-long-range sectors evaluated and recommended where cost-advantageous, factored into all-in quotes transparently.
Catering
Halal & International Catering
In-flight catering at DXB and DWC through DNATA catering and approved providers — halal catering available as standard across all orders. Emirati, Arabic, and international cuisines. Full multi-course meal service for intercontinental departures arranged against confirmed block time. Advance wine and beverage orders managed for non-dry aircraft configurations.
Available Empty Legs

Dubai empty leg flights —
reduced-rate positioning sectors.

Dubai’s high private jet volume — particularly on the Singapore, London, Mumbai, and Gulf corridor routes — generates consistent empty leg opportunities at 40–65% below standard charter pricing. The Dubai resident fleet is large and active; repositioning movements create regular one-way availability on all major corridors. Availability changes daily.

FAQ

Questions about
Dubai private aviation.

Two airports, one city — our team navigates every element. Ask us anything.

Ask a question
DXB (Dubai International) with the ADAC terminal is the city-proximate option — 15 to 20 minutes from Downtown, DIFC, and Business Bay, making it the default choice for most business and leisure arrivals. DWC (Al Maktoum International) is 37 kilometres south, 45 to 55 minutes from Downtown, and is preferred for ultra-long-range jets on intercontinental sectors, VIP widebody operations, and during peak event periods when DXB’s slot availability is constrained. We select the correct airport for every booking based on your aircraft type, routing, and ground destination — you never need to navigate this decision yourself.
Citizens of most countries — including Singapore, the UK, all EU nations, the US, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and many others — receive a 30-day UAE visa on arrival at no cost and with no advance application required. Citizens of GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar) may enter visa-free. We confirm visa eligibility for every passenger nationality as part of our pre-departure documentation check — if any passenger requires advance visa processing, we will advise immediately on confirmation of their nationality.
The Dubai Airshow — held biennially in November at DWC — is the most slot-constrained event in Middle Eastern private aviation. Aircraft arrive from every continent across a very compressed window, and both DXB and DWC experience significant slot pressure. We recommend booking 6 to 8 weeks in advance for the Airshow week. For the Dubai World Cup (March), 4 to 5 weeks is the appropriate lead. For the UAE National Day period (December), 3 to 4 weeks. Outside of these peak events, 1 to 2 weeks is generally sufficient for most Dubai bookings.
Singapore to Dubai is approximately 3,700 nautical miles — within the range of a super-midsize jet at standard loads and manageable for a Challenger 350 or Citation Sovereign+ with appropriate fuel planning. A heavy or ultra-long-range jet handles the sector without restriction. The G650 and Global 7500 manage the sector comfortably in both directions at full passenger loads. We assess aircraft suitability for each Singapore–Dubai booking as standard and recommend the appropriate category for your group size and cabin preferences.
Excellent. Dubai sits within a 1 to 2 hour private jet radius of every significant Gulf destination — Riyadh (1h15m), Doha (50m), Muscat (1h), Abu Dhabi (25m by private jet to Al Bateen). A UAE, Saudi, and Oman multi-leg programme with Dubai as the hub is operationally straightforward and a common structure for business, government, and family itineraries across the region. We coordinate all legs, permits, FBO arrangements, and ground transport as a single managed programme.
Private jet operations over international airspace are generally governed by the law of the aircraft’s registration state rather than UAE law. Most private aircraft based or operating through Dubai are registered in jurisdictions that permit alcohol on board — and international operators serving Dubai routinely include alcoholic beverages in catering. However, we always confirm the specific configuration of your aircraft before finalising catering arrangements. Halal catering is available as standard on all Dubai bookings through our approved catering providers.
Yes. Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI) in Abu Dhabi is approximately 25 minutes by private jet from DXB or DWC and handles private aviation with a dedicated FBO. The Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) handles larger aircraft. By road, Dubai to Abu Dhabi is approximately 90 minutes via the E11. We frequently arrange DXB or DWC arrivals with same-day or next-day Abu Dhabi continuation as part of UAE multi-city itineraries — FBO arrangements at Al Bateen or AUH coordinated as part of the same booking.
Share your origin city, travel date, passenger count, and preferred departure window — we respond within 60 minutes with a curated aircraft shortlist, airport recommendation (DXB or DWC), and all-inclusive pricing. For event-period bookings, please flag the date early as slot availability determines the airport options.
