Private Jet Charter to Toronto —
Pearson or Billy Bishop,
chosen for your trip.
Canada’s financial capital served by two airports with radically different city-access profiles — Pearson for intercontinental range and full aircraft capability, Billy Bishop for downtown doorstep arrivals on light jets and turboprops.
TIFF (September) & Toronto Raptors / Maple Leafs playoffs: Toronto International Film Festival compresses private jet availability and hotel inventory across the first two weeks of September. Book 3–4 weeks in advance. Canadian eTA required for most international arrivals — we confirm documentation for all passengers as standard.
Canada’s financial capital —
two airports with opposite strengths.
Toronto is Canada’s largest city and its undisputed financial, commercial, and cultural centre — home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, the headquarters of Canada’s five major banks, the country’s most active real estate market, and a rapidly expanding technology sector. For private jet clients, Toronto is served by two airports with fundamentally different operational profiles that suit different types of trips.
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ / CYYZ) is Canada’s busiest airport — handling all intercontinental private jet arrivals and any aircraft requiring Pearson’s long runways and full-service FBO infrastructure. Multiple FBO operators — Signature Aviation and Skyservice among them — provide dedicated private terminals with CBSA customs and immigration processing. Pearson sits approximately 27 kilometres from downtown Toronto, a 30–45 minute road transfer in normal traffic.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ / CYTZ), located on the Toronto Island in Lake Ontario directly adjacent to the downtown core, offers a dramatically different experience — a short pedestrian tunnel or ferry ride from the mainland delivers passengers within 15 minutes of the Financial District and King West. YTZ is restricted to turboprops and light jets by its runway length (1,216 m) and location, but for clients arriving on appropriate aircraft from within North America, it is one of the most convenient urban airport arrivals in the world.
Most trans-Pacific and intercontinental bookings use Pearson. Most same-day business trips from New York, Montreal, or Boston where downtown proximity is the priority use Billy Bishop. We select the correct airport for every booking based on your aircraft, origin, and ground destination.
| Primary airport | Toronto Pearson (YYZ / CYYZ) — intercontinental, all aircraft |
| Downtown airport | Billy Bishop (YTZ / CYTZ) — light jets & turboprops only |
| YYZ to downtown | 30–45 min by road; UP Express train 25 min to Union Station |
| YTZ to downtown | 15 min — pedestrian tunnel + 5 min walk to Financial District |
| FBO operators YYZ | Signature Aviation · Skyservice · Innotech Aviation |
| FBO operators YTZ | Porter Aviation FBO / Island Air |
| Customs & Immigration | Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at both airports |
| eTA requirement | Required for most visa-exempt international arrivals by air — we confirm for all passengers |
| YTZ aircraft limit | Runway 1,216 m — turboprops and light jets only; no jets over ~30,000 lb MTOW |
| YTZ curfew | No scheduled operations 0000–0600 local; private jet arrivals may be restricted |
| Time zone | Eastern Time (ET) — UTC−5 (UTC−4 during EDT) |
| Currency | Canadian Dollar (CAD) — approximately 0.73 USD at time of writing |
Two airports, clearly explained —
which one is right for your trip.
The choice between Pearson and Billy Bishop shapes the entire arrival experience. We make this call for you based on your aircraft, origin, and ground destination — but the full logic is below.
Canada’s financial and cultural capital —
why private aviation demand is consistent.
What we manage at Toronto
on every arrival and departure.
Airport selection — YYZ or YTZ — is the first decision in every Toronto booking and is made based on your aircraft type, origin, and ground destination in Toronto. For all international arrivals and any aircraft larger than a light jet, Pearson is the only option. For North American business sectors on turboprops and light jets where downtown proximity is the priority, Billy Bishop is the decisive choice.
Canadian CBSA advance passenger information is submitted on your behalf as standard. Canadian eTA documentation is confirmed for all visa-exempt international passengers — most nationalities receive it electronically with no delay, but we verify each passenger nationality before departure to prevent any arrival-day complications. US citizens are exempt from the eTA requirement but still require a valid passport for entry.
Aircraft operating into Toronto —
from YTZ day trips to trans-Pacific at YYZ.
Toronto’s aircraft selection spans two very different operational profiles — short-field capable turboprops and light jets for YTZ, through to ultra-long-range jets for intercontinental arrivals at YYZ. The airport choice and aircraft category are always determined together.
YTZ accepts turboprops and light jets with MTOW below approximately 30,000 lb. The Phenom 100, Phenom 300, Citation CJ series, and Pilatus PC-12 are the most common YTZ types. All midsize, super-midsize, heavy, and ultra-long-range jets use YYZ without exception.

We arrange all ground transport and regional connections as part of every booking.
Handling facilities at Pearson
and Billy Bishop.
Both YYZ and YTZ operate dedicated private aviation facilities with on-site CBSA customs and immigration. We maintain active handling relationships at all three YYZ FBOs and at the YTZ private terminal, selecting the appropriate facility for every booking.
Toronto empty leg flights —
reduced-rate positioning sectors.
Toronto’s active private aviation volume — particularly on the New York, Montreal, Chicago, and Vancouver corridors — generates regular empty leg opportunities at 40–65% below standard pricing. Airport (YYZ or YTZ) is labelled on each sector.
Empty leg pricing and availability change daily. YTZ sectors require turboprop or light jet aircraft. Contact our team for confirmed current availability on any Toronto sector.
